Happy Geocaching New Year 2008

What better way to start the new year off than with family, friends, and geocaching. Last year on New Year’s Day the boys and I got a Happy New Year FTF. No such luck today, but we did manage to find 3 geocaches to start off the new year. We hope to make this a New Year’s Day tradition, however, the caches around here are getting scarce. I purposely waited until today to go for these caches.

I wouldn’t mind traveling on New Year’s Day to get a few caches, but it might conflict with some other New Year’s traditions such as our church’s annual Hog Jowls and Black-Eyed Peas Luncheon. Hog Jowls and Black-Eyed Peas are a southern tradition. If you’re not familiar with this tradition check out this article.

Hopefully 2008 will bring some new geocaches to the Shoals. I have a few planned and will post some info about them when they’re placed.
